Michael Wolf
Michael Wolf is a photographer who was born in Germany, raised in the USA and now spends most of his time in Asia. He Takes pictures in Hong Kong of high architecture's eliminating the sky and horizon. by using a diverse array of perspectives and visual approaches, wolf uses his camera to reveal the human energy that flows through the contemporary city. in so doing, he establishes himself not only as a photographer of the urban structure, but of the myriad ways in which people adapt to and reconfigure this rapidly changing environment, thereby providing us with a fascinatingly intricate portrait of life in the city. A lot of the pictures are dynamic and natural lighting. |

Focus: the whole image is in focus. however, there is a slight softening at the edge
of the table. Light: I imagine the light is coming through the slates in a wooden chair. it is therefore creating a line pattern over the table. Line: The lines are thick straight lines. They are representing man made objects. Repetition: The lines are repeated across the table from the slates in the chair. The shapes are straight and geometric. Space: the space seems tightly shallow as the camera is close to the subject. Texture: If I could touch the surface of the object I would feel smooth. all of the drama comes from the shadow created by the slates in the chair. Value/tone: There is a range of dark and light. The lightest light is in the middle of the table where as the darkest are near the edge from the chair. |
Keld uses high contrast images. His images are usually industrial nature of the urban environment .

My Response To looking Up
Looking up has a distinct shape against the sky. It has been created by repeating the image and repeating it.

Editing my final photos
To edit these images I have made the windows different pastel colours as they link to the style of Michael Wolf.
My Final Pieces
This is my final edit of this image. I changed the levels to bring the white wall out more and made the colours more opaque.
I'm pleased with the triptych.
