It is also the state of having unique identifying characteristics held by no other person.
My initial response to Identity
During this project I will explore the themes of identity and aim to express these elements through a variety of photographic techniques. I will use the formal elements of photography such as focus, light, line, repetition, shape, space, texture, value and tone.
Creating Mood with Lighting
Rankin
John Rankin Waddell is a portrait and fashion photographer. He controlled all his photographs with lighting.
My Response To Rankin- focusing on hands and faces
I am inspired b these Rankin photos and want to recreate the simple poses that show emotion.
Refining my response to Rankin
I chose this photograph because it has a light hearted expression.

To improve this I cropped the image, changed it to black and white and increases the contrast..

Using text to comment on Identity
Using hobbies to show Identity
Liam Eyles
Liam Eyles mainly takes pictures of scooter and BMX riders. He uses a verity of lenses from wide angle 'fisheyes' to get close to the action to long lenses to capture the unique tricks and background . I was inspired by his photography and wanted to use his techniques of capturing from below the eye angle and get up close to the action..
My response to Liam Eyles
Developing my response by adding text to add to my photos to comment on Identity
I have added key words using photoshop to my original photographs. In some cases I have changed the photograph to black and white so that the words stand out.
